There's aquote from Soke Takamatsu, Hatsumi-Sensei's teacher, on the essence of Ninjutsu and the goal of training...
Did you catch this week's Warrior's Whiteboard Wednesday Training?
If you caught either KUDEN! or Warrior's Whiteboard Wednesday for this
week, you caught the full quote that I shared from Takamatsu Sensei, Hatsumi Sensei's teacher and 33rd Grandmaster of the Togakure-Ryu of Ninjutsu: "The essence of Ninjutsu is to know that which cannot be known, and to see that which cannot be seen."
Sounds like a bunch of, as some trolls on the internet call it..."just more of that backwards Ninjutsu double-talk BS," but it's not. As Soke wasn't speaking about anything metaphysical, as much as pointing us towards that
which most people don't know, can't see, or pay much attention to or don't think we have any control over. And this week's focus on our emotions and their relationship to natural human defensive response, is just one example of this Truth in action.
🔥 Tomorrow night,we go beyond fixed technique-only and/or single strategy-thinking and explore yet another way to explore the concept of henka ('technique variation'),
kamae, and zanshin (lingering mind, constant awareness, etc.). To do this, we'll be looking at the emotions as "drivers" and influencing agents and their effects on the spine and overall body's ability to move well in given directions, as well as indicators of both our state of being, and developing multiple ways to use the same techniques when under the influence of different scenarios.
If you want to expand your defensive abilities, multiply the number of techniques you own WITHOUT having to learn more techniques, then you're invited to be a part of this closed-door, advanced level training...
🛡 As usual, this virtual
training class streamed from the dojo via Zoom is just $9—and you’ll also get the full video recording afterward to review again and again for continuing progress.
🚀 Secure your spot now and train with me and other serious, self-protection-oriented students during this week's Friday Masterclass.
Here's the link to register for this week's virtual Ninjutsu class from my dojo via Zoom, tomorrow, March 14th at 6pm eastern.
