I got a ton of great feedback on my latest article about Ninjutsu vs. MMA, but also some strong reactions.
Some people loved it. Others asked:
👉 “But MMA is real, isn’t it?”
👉 “If Ninjutsu is so effective, why isn’t it in the UFC?”
👉 “How can traditional martial arts beat a modern
fighter?”
I get it. If someone has nothing but a duke-it-out, "fighter" mindset, is set in their ways with one "best" system (theirs), or hasn't really thought about (or cared to think about) all the ways that human beings attack and try to beat, break, or kill each other... and "WHY," so that they can develop skills and methods for handling as many of them as
possible...
...then this is going to be a difficult subject for them. After all, a lot of people look at things like this - videos, articles, other systems - not to gain new insights and/or perspectives... but to be told how to do what they already do, better... to validate their own beliefs...or, more likely, to discount the new information as wrong before they've even read the first
word!
Either way...

💡 One Thing to Think About:
MMA, kickboxing, BJJ—these all work for the type of fight they
train for.
But real self-defense isn’t a controlled, predetermined "fight." It's a fight for your life... with the consequences being, well... as one of my teachers used to sum it up:
"If you screw this up, your family better look good in black!"
A trained fighter or even the guy with emotional baggage and a sucky life at the bar on Friday night might
expect a square-off and a few punches. A real attacker in the realm I train people to survive in might come at you with a knife, jump you from behind in a stairwell, crash your party or workplace and start shooting up the place, or slam you into a wall before you even know you're being attacked... and hopefully you won't be with your kids when it happens and have to worry about their safety... at the SAME
time!
That’s why the Ninja trained for survival, not sport.
