Are you registered for tomorrow's class where I'll be giving students techniques and drills based on this week's tactics
Hatsumi Sensei always said: "Control the Distance and You Control the Fight..."
...sounds simple, doesn't it? But, what are the skills behind the skills to do this apparent "simple" thing?
Not sure if you caught this or not, but...
The theme for this week's training, begun during Monday's KUDEN! Radio podcast episode, is "sensing" - different types of "knowing" within an attack situation. I focused on two
of these specifically during our Warrior's Whiteboard Wednesday lesson - maai ('distancing' and 'spatial awareness') and kan (intuition / perceptive awareness), and tied them into the more commonly known and heard concept of kukan ("empty space" / 'space of potential') and all that it entails (it's a LOT more than most students have been taught!).

If you're interested, we're going to take this further during Tomorrow's Ninjutsu Virtual Masterclass... broadcast live via Zoom at 6pm eastern, from my Bujinkan Mori no Tora Dojo. During this 75+ minute class, we'll be
working through techniques and drills designed to allow you to improve your ability to use distance itself as a weapon to control, weaken, and dominate your attacker in a self-defense situation.
Click HERE or on the pic below to get details about what you'll be learning, and register now before all the spots are gone (limited
to the first 20 students!):
So, if you want to take your skill proficiency with this aspect of your training further... then be sure to register for this week's Virtual Class before the 4:30pm deadline the day of the class. (Due to the class schedule at the dojo, it's necessary to close the doors on registration 90 minutes before class start!)
I look forward to training with you very soon!
