Did you miss this week's training?

Published: Thu, 11/09/23

In this week's episode of Warrior's Whiteboard Wednesday, we looked at why the term "wrist twist" used by the vast majority of students (and teachers) is misleading and why, even those who know the correct definition of the Japanese... still think of it this way.  I also covered:

- 3 Stages of Technique Development (both doing the technique AND taking ukemi against it)
- What each training partner is focusing on at each of the stages (and why)
- What it looks like to have "transcended" the "stages" themselves
- The "secret" Goal of 80% of the techniques in our system (regardless of whether we're striking, doing gyaku-te, or whatever)
- The principles taught by these techniques (and why an ura gyaku is NOT just taking your opponent in the 'opposite' direction from an omote-gyaku!)
- The primary Gyaku-te AS principles, and looking at other techniques with completely different names (i.e. Ganseki-nage, Onikudaki, etc.) from this new perspective for greater control.
- and MORE!

If you want to go beyond trading punches and all the other "tough-guy" fight tactics used by everyone else, regardless of "cool style..."

...then, you'll definitely want to make sure you catch-up on this week's tactics & strategy lesson!

(**Unless you have dedicated time, you'll probably have to take this in smaller chunks... but I promise it'll be worth it!)

Here are the link to watch it via the Youtube channel:

Once you've watched it, don't forget to get registered for tomorrow's Friday Ninjutsu Virtual Class broadcasting live from Warrior Concepts' Academy... where I'll be teaching on several techniques to convey aspects from this lesson so you have actual, real-world examples.

Enjoy!
