Urgent Help for Dai-Shihan Miller and his family!
Published: Thu, 12/08/22
This is Sensei Erin Rhinehart, one of the black belt instructors and staff members here at Warrior Concepts. You may not know me personally but I have something really important to discuss with you that's, well, not good.
As you may already know, Dai-Shihan Miller and his family suffered a terrible house fire last year that made their home unlivable.

Read more details here...
Their insurance was there to help to restore everything, and a contractor was brought in to do just that.
Unfortunately, they've been completely ripped off by that same contractor who did less than 35% of the work (a lot of it is a complete mess and needs to be redone) but taking over 80% of the money he was paid (over $180,000.00!!!), and...
...if they don't get things deemed "livable" by city code requirements by early March, they will not only NOT have their house back, but will be out any further assistance from the insurance that's been paying for temporary housing, rental furniture, and other expenses. It's a mess. (See some pics, and get details about just how much, go here...)
Dai-Shihan Miller isn't one to ask for help (and has been doing a really good job at not showing the stress and concern he's dealing with), but we're trying to get students and staff to help with what we can. In addition, his mother-in-law started a GoFundMe that not only provides a way to try to come up with much needed funds to save his home, but also does a really good job of explaining what they've been going through (as well as posting pictures of the mess and additional damage done by the contractor!). You can check it out here: https://www.gofundme.com/manage/the-fire-victims-of-sunbury-pa
I would really appreciate it if you'd take a look at it, share it everywhere you can; and, if possible, help in whatever way you can to get new contractors to get things done!
I know it's not the best time of year to have a need like this but, at this point, every little bit will help.
Thanks for taking a minute to read this.
Sincerely,
Erin Rhinehart & the WCI Staff
